How is my data safe from loss?

Warlance GameServers takes many precautions when defending your data from accidents or hardware failure. 


RAID Disk Failure Protection:
All servers are equipped with a software or hardware configuration of RAID 1. This is a process that involves mirroring data onto two separate hard drives. In the event a hard drive fails, a request is dispatched for the failed hard drive to be replaced, and then the server is powered into a recovery system which copies all the data from the second (still working) hard drive, onto the newly installed replacement drive.

Data Backups:
All servers are backed up nightly (between 5-7 AM) to three separate data centers located off-site, in three different locations, across several devices. This ensures that in the event of complete hard drive or RAID controller failure, all data is still available for restore from three separate facilities, all of which are fault tolerant and contain their own RAID arrays.
All data stored off-site is encrypted using hardware encryption means, as well as AES-256 encryption (performed server-side before being backed up) in-transit and at rest. Encryption keys are only at the access of the head of system administration. Servers only have access to their separate allocated backup space, which requires a unique ID and secret key to connect to, backup services are also network locked.

Customer Accidents:
In the event a customer accidentally deletes essential or sensitive files from their services, they can contact support and request a full service, or independent file restore. These requests must be made as soon as possible to ensure the data is still available for restore as data is overwritten often.
